RCEMS offers a wide variety of continuing
education through lectures, practical training session and certification/
re-certification classes. RCEMS is known state-wide for their high quality
education programs. Classes are offered on the third Thursday of every
month. Riley
County
EMS
has been approved by the Kansas Board of EMS as a long-term provider of
continuing education training. Classes are
open to all EMS providers.
Environmental
Hazards
Steve Wahle, Wildlife Biologist at Fort Riley will
present on the variety of poisonous plants, venomous and non-venomous snakes,
spiders and other creatures that are native to our area.
Information covered will include identification of different plant life
in the area that is poisonous as well as identification of different snakes,
spiders, ticks etc. Symptoms of
exposure or bites as well as general treatment for each specific toxin will also
be covered.
