






| | RCEMS offers a wide variety of continuing
education through lectures, practical training session and certification/
re-certification classes. RCEMS is known state-wide for their high quality
education programs. Classes are offered on the third Thursday of every
month. RCEMS is a Program Provider and all classes are approved for
Continuing Education credit through the Kansas Board of EMS. Classes are
open to all EMS providers.
Child Abuse and Neglect
Stephanie
Reich, RN, SANE/SART Coordinator at Mercy Regional Health Center will present on
this topic. The purpose is to
understand and identify various types of abuse, differentiate between accidental
and inflicted injuries and know your role as a mandatory reporter of suspected
abuse.
Pediatric Age & Growth
Characteristics
We will review the varied ways
it is necessary to approach
a pediatric patient based on their age.
Spinal Immobilization of the Pediatric
Patient
We will review immobilization of the
infant and child using the
KED, Ped Immob Device, Ferno Pedi-Mate and in a car seat.
