Riley County EMS is a Type 1 EMS service in Northeast Kansas.
Based out of Manhattan (home of the Kansas State University Wildcats), we are dedicated to
serving the residents and visitors of the city of Manhattan, as well as those in
the Riley and
Pottawatomie County areas.
RCEMS employs
15 full time Paramedics and 6 EMT-Is who work a 24 hour shift
schedule (3 days out of 5 then 4 days off). A staff of 20 part time
Paramedics and EMTs are employed to staff open schedule time.
RCEMS is equipped with 4 ALS units at the primary station located on Claflin
and 1 unit at the fire station on Poyntz, plus 4 support vehicles, two all-terrain patient vehicles for events, and one ALS and one BLS first response vehicle
stationed in the northern half of the county.
RCEMS averages over 11.5 calls per day with an average of 4,200 calls per
